1. School Cleaner
The governors of this happy and successful primary school are seeking to appoint a School Cleaner for permanent appointment. Training will be provided for the right candidate where required.
Post Title: School Cleaner
Grade: 2 pt 2 (Green Book NJC Staff)
Hours: Part time Mon – Fri 3:30pm – 5:30pm (10 hrs week)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time plus 3 weeks equivalent during school holidays for deep cleaning

2. Clerk to Governors
Northleach Church of England Primary School is seeking a Clerk to the Board of Governors.
The role of the governing board
The Governing Board has 10 members all of whom are actively involved in developing the Vision and Values of our school. We have collective responsibility for three key roles:
- To give the school a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction
- To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- To ensure financial accountability
The board is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
The structure of the governing body consists of One Chair and three sub committees; Curriculum, Ethos and Resources. The governing body meets six times a year (once a term), each sub committee meets in advance of most of these full governor meetings.
The clerk’s job is to work with the chair, other governors and headteacher, in dealing with administrative matters for the board and advising on procedural issues of governance and the board’s statutory duties. Central to the role is preparing for, taking notes at and producing minutes for meetings.
The post involves some evening work and the successful candidate should be available at times during the day. Good keyboard skills and the ability to write agendas and produce accurate concise minutes are essential. Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. There is training available for the suitable candidate.
New clerks receive advice, support and training from the Gloucestershire Schools Team and all clerks are encouraged to attend termly one-hour briefings in Gloucester, to update themselves on the latest developments in governance.
The post will initially involve approximately 60 hrs per year term time only (roughly 1 ½ hours per week) and, typically, this includes the 6/7 Full Governing Board Meetings each year. The clerk may be asked to take on additional work according to need with agreed overtime.
Salary
The post of Clerk to the Governing Body has been graded at Grade 6 (Pts 15-20) of the
Gloucestershire’s NJ Staff Salary Scale (Green Book) which currently is £29,054 - £31,659 full time equivalent salary which equates to approx. £80 gross per month.
